A Man on a Bench

Cars come and go past,
Their fumes fade into air,
But I am as I was
People fall in and out of jobs,
Beggars sing their sorrows,
But I am as I was
Birds search for companionship,
Dogs bark at new faces,
But I am as I was
The sky changes colours,
Rainbows become shades of grey,
But I am as I was
The Sun goes to sleep,
And streetlights burn out,
But I am as I was
Buildings collapse on themselves,
Winds make the fire grow,
But I am as I was
Forests bloom from the deserts,
Houses sprout from ruins,
But I am as I was
I get up purposefully from my spot,
Only to turn out,
As I was
